{"componentChunkName":"component---src-templates-partners-js","path":"/the-office-guys/rob-walsh","result":{"data":{"craft":{"entry":{"__typename":"Craft_Partners","title":"Rob Walsh","body":{"content":"<p>Rob Walsh is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University School\n\nof Public and International Affairs and at Baruch’s School of Public and\n\nInternational Affairs. He hosts a radio segment “The Bottom Line for Small Business” on 1010\n\nWINS Radio where he is also the host and moderator of the Small Business\n\nChallenge, which recognizes the work of entrepreneurs in New York Metropolitan\n\narea.</p>\n<p>In January 2002, Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed Walsh the Commissioner\n\nof the Department of Small Business Services (SBS). During his twelve years, SBS\n\nbecame one of the city's most innovative agencies in serving the needs of its\n\n200,000 small businesses. Walsh re-energized the City's business improvement districts and\n\ncreated an award-winning commercial revitalization and neighborhood leadership\n\nprogram in partnership with the Coro Foundation. Under his leadership, 7\n\nNYC Business Solutions Centers were established that secured more than $200\n\nmillion for small businesses, and 17 workforce centers were refocused to place 200,000 people in jobs. He also forged new partnerships with groups including the\n\nInitiative for a Competitive Inner City, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business\n\nProgram, Interise, and the Kauffman Foundation.<br /></p>\n<p>Prior to his service with the City, Walsh served as President of\n\nCharlotte Center City Partners in North Carolina, an organization dedicated to\n\nimproving and growing Charlotte's central business district. He led the Center\n\nCity 2010 Master Plan that laid the groundwork for significant private and\n\npublic investments in the core of the city including more housing, retail\n\ndevelopment, an NBA basketball arena, a minor league baseball stadium, cultural\n\nfacilities, a light rail line, and parks. He also initiated the recruitment\n\nefforts that attracted Johnson &amp; Wales University to the Center City.</p>\n<p>Walsh holds a\n\nBachelors in Political Science and Masters in Public Affairs from Fordham\n\nUniversity.
